RUANG GERAK PEDESTRIAN

Pedestrians are a diverse group of people with varied needs

and abilities. By meeting the needs of the less
able, a quality walking environment is provided for all.
Walkable communities have qualities that have a marked effect
on the amount of walking people enjoy.

The decision to walk usually takes into account the distance

of the trip, the perceived safety of the route, and the
comfort and convenience of walking versus an
alternative mode

Pedestrian facilities are sidewalks, trails, curb ramps, traffic

calming and control devices, grade separated crossings, wide
shoulders and other technology, design features, and
strategies intended to encourage pedestrian travel
