‘Passage Exercise’ with US Navy CSG Ronald Reagen during its transit through
Indian Ocean Region on June 23 and June 24.

 The exercise will be carried out South of Thiruvananthapuram, on the Western

Sea board.
 The exercise is in the IAF’s Southern Air command’s - area of responsibility
and the IAF forces will operate from bases under four operational commands and

will include Jaguars, Su-30 MKI fighters, Air-to-Air Refueller aircraft, Airborne
warnings and control system (AWACS) and Air Borne Larly Warning and Con-
trol (AEW&C).
 This 2 day Navy exercise aims to strengthen the bilateral relationship and co-
operation and demonstrating the ability to integrate and coordinate comprehen-
sively in maritime operations and high tempo operations.
 The exercise as a strategic outreach exercise with the defence forces of friendly
foreign countries will focus on multiple areas including enhancing aspects of
interoperability, nuances of international integrated maritime (search and rescue)
operations and exchange of best practices in the maritime airpower domain.
