Environmental Pollution

The first film talks about the problem of water pollution caused by the boundless use of
plastic. The earth consists of 71% of land 29% of water. Water is an integral part of the earth
and the life on it and is getting polluted at an alarming rate. 8 metric tonnes of plastic are
being disposed of in the oceans which are harming marine life. Plastic packaging has
become a huge concern and one of the reasons for pollution on a rise. The entire chain has
to be changed and each player involved in the manufacturing process of plastic should take
an active part in recycling the plastic waste that has been created. The two R’s that are
Recycling and reusing should be followed to eradicate this problem. The plastic waste
disposed of in oceans travel everywhere and break into smaller and smaller pieces ingested
by aquatic animals across the globe. Plastic waste has become a threat to the marine
ecosystem. Pollution is entering the oceans in many ways such as industrial, agricultural,
and urban waste. This has led to an explosion of algae around the oceans which hamper the
oxygen which is needed by the aquatic organisms for survival. These contaminated areas
have become dead zones. Nutrition pollution which is soaring at great heights can be
controlled through a change in agricultural practices. The quality of water depends on the
health of the soil. It's important to replenish the soil with nutrients and this can be done by
using organic matter. The presence of organic matter is essential as it can hold more
nitrogen and phosphorus. Farmers need to work collectively for enforcement of these
environmentally safe activities the second film talks about the value forests hold in our
lifeThe forests are an integral part of our ecosystem. Forests have always been
underappreciated by humans. Forests are the heart and soul of the earth. It provides us
with the air we breathe, vegetation and greenery, habitat for the animals and birds
surrounding us. It also provides us with timber and flowers and fruits. The forests range
from providing scenic beauty to the poetic silences offered by them. The third film talks
about the exhaustion of resources by humans. There is only one earth and we have to
preserve it at any cost. The exploitation of resources has to lead to global warming and
climate change. Fossil fuels are depleting at a high rate and our dependence on them is
increasing day by day. We rely on earth for everything and we must preserve it for future
generations to come.
