Hello.

Let’s go back to the day it all changed for me.

Back in ‘17 I was running a meal kit startup. Things were good. The
concept was growing. Customers were ecstatic. We were ready to
take over the world.

The only problem was that it was costing us around $35 to acquire a
customer.

We were doing ok. Running Facebook ads. Joining email contests.


Banging away on social. Everything "​they" ​tell you to do.

I’ve always heard about people scaling Facebook campaigns, making


$500k in a month​, how easy it was, how great it was, yada yada
yada!

My interest was piqued and as hard as I tried I still could never quite
understand how “they” did it.

I poured money into Facebook ads to sell meal kits and still couldn’t
get past that $35 CPA.

We hired agency after agency. Nobody could deliver any better


results. Maybe, it just “is what it is” and we needed to figure out how to
make more money per customer on the backend? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Then I met Troy and it ​all changed.​

Troy was in college at the time and came up in the generation of


social media. He knew all the social media tricks, techniques, tactics,
and strategies that my generation missed.

Troy asked ​“Why The Hell​ are you running paid ads to a standard
Shopify website?”

Hmmm. Well, what else can I do?

That’s all I knew.

He schooled me on “​SALES FUNNELS​” and I was intrigued to say the


least.

Secret #1:​ The Paradox Of Choice:

The more options, the less action.


The less options, the ​more action​.

By getting rid of our website and switching to a single pointed selling


system (Pinhole Funnel) our conversions went from 2% to 65% and
we were able to dramatically grow the business by simply ​killing our
website.

We ceased all paid ads going directly to the website and instead built
a simple pinhole funnel.

A “pinhole” funnel is the term I coined after seeing how we were


bringing everyone into our world through an opening the size of a
pinhole and funneling them through while controlling the entire buying
process.

To create a funnel you need to reverse engineer who your customer is


and what they want and qualify them…

The core attributes of our target customer:

[+] They cook hamburgers in the home


[+] They like to explore new tastes and foods
[+] They are comfortable purchasing food online
[+] They’re early adopters

Ok. Great.

So, we took this information and created our funnel.

The Pinhole Funnel is made up of 3 core principles:

The Offer
The Lead Magnet
The Two Step Landing Page

Our first funnel was the ​legendary​ ​Free Spice Rub Funnel​.

Instead of running paid traffic to our page where we pitch a $75 meal
kit, we would take them to a landing page where we offer them a free
bag of an awesome spice rub that we created.

This was the lead magnet.

They would either pay for the shipping for their free spice rub ($4 or
so) and move forward into our world ​OR​ leave. If they left, we did not
waste any more marketing dollars, resource, effort, or time on them.

This was the turning point!

Most of us waste 80% of our time, budget, and money chasing down
customers and clients that don’t want what we offer! That’s the
traditional way of doing business.

Only If they came in through our “pinhole funnel” we then began


marketing to them and started the conversation.

This single move changed the trajectory of my career.

Although, I was a bit upset.

Why didn’t I think of this?

I was supposed to be some sort of leading edge marketer that was


taking brands from zero to six figures in a matter of weeks. Right?

Fast forward a month.

Remember how it was costing us around $35 to acquire a new
customer?

Now​, we were acquiring qualified customers and ​profiting​ on average


$.80. We were bringing in thousands of customers per week, rather
than per year.

Instead of ​losing $350,000​ to acquire 10,000 customers we would


now ​profit $8,000​ up-front and then sell them more and more of our
products as we built the relationship.

Imagine the effect this would have on ​your​ business?

It was almost unbelievable.

Who would’ve thought by simply forcing a decision, controlling the


buying process, and marketing only to those that were interested and
committed that our fortune would change so quickly.

Now we were invited into their homes, delivered a high quality


product, started the conversation, got to know each other, and
ultimately had a never ending and profitable way to qualify, attract,
and convert cold traffic to paying and loving customers!

Wow.

My mind was blown!

I’ve been running online companies since 2006 and have done fairly
well. I even made $275,000 profit in one day doing it.

But, this…

This was something I’ve never seen before.

It felt like going from a nice Honda to a brand spanking new


fire-breathing Lamborghini.

At that moment I ​knew​ I had a tiger by the tail.

I knew that this was it.

I was going to use this “​secret weapon​” to launch the concept that
has been bottled up inside me for years.

The idea that I would tell my friends about during late night talks about
life, the future, and our contributions to the world.

I was going to ​finally​ launch ​Hustle Island​.

See, I always wanted to create some sort of t-shirt or bracelet that


connects entrepreneurs in the real world. Like how motorcyclists give
a little wave of acknowledgement as they pass each other. I wanted to
do this for the entrepreneur community. My community. A
brother/sister hood that I feel so strongly about.

… and ​finally​ I knew how I was going to do it.

So -- I quit everything.

Dropped out of many of the businesses I was involved in. Sold
everything. My family and I moved to a beach house in the outer
banks.

The only thing we took was an idea and ​my new found Secret
Weapon​!!

The Pinhole Funnel System.

It made life simple.

It leveraged the 80/20 rule and let’s you focus your efforts, resources,
and attention on those that actually want what you have.

Crazy concept, right?

Secret #2:​ Control The Buying Process

The one thing that separates winning sales professionals from


everyone else is that they understand the importance of controlling the
buying process.

Successful sales professionals control the journey from A-Z and


unsuccessful people allow the prospect to do as they please, wander
around aimlessly, and ultimately take no action

Right now, most companies and individuals doing business online are
running first time traffic to a ​standard website​.

In today’s age when someone clicks onto your website they did it for a
reason.

An explicit reason.

They are interested in what you are offering.

There are no coincidences anymore. Nobody “stumbles upon” your


page randomly. They came there for a reason.

… and what do we do when they get there?

Well, we show them how great ​we​ are!

We show them where we went to college, have an entire page


dedicated to “about us”, show our staff, show our past clients, and
basically just go on and on about ourselves and our company.

… leaving it up to them to meander around the site at will, click


wherever they want, and eventually click one of those “shiny” social
media buttons that we’re all so familiar with and POOF! they’re gone
into the abyss, never to be seen again!

… Opportunity squandered.

This is the ​old way​ of doing business online.

As we get smarter we understand the need to ​control that entire
process​.

This is what separates the winners from those just getting by.

The winners control everything. They position themselves. They use


proper hooks and angles. They know exactly what they want to talk
about and at what stage of the process it’s necessary.

What does all this mean to you?

You can now begin leveraging all different traffic sources and make
each and every visitor count.

Secret #3:​ There’s An Unlimited Pool of Clients Waiting For You

Your customers and clients are hanging out right now on Instagram,
having conversations, and ​telling you exactly what they want​ and
need!

Right now, it’s hard to attract people from Instagram if you don’t have
a solid offer, lead magnet, and most importantly a way to convert the
traffic into actual leads.

Industry standard conversion rate is 2%.

That means out of 100 visitors only 2 will “convert” and complete the
desired action.

When running a Pinhole funnel and bringing that number up to 50%,
that means out of every 100 people 50 will actually convert.

This changes things. Drastically.

Imagine 25X’ing your results?

This is how I was able to grow from zero (yes, I had absolutely no
customers, capital, or connections when I started this) to 70,000
subscribers in less than 6 months.

I simply used an efficient system and leveraged my time, resources,


and effort!

I did all of this while traveling full time with my wife and two small
children. The system does all of the heavy lifting!

With a working system and process you can now leverage Instagram
and other pools of traffic effectively and efficiently.

It now makes sense to begin following hashtags, creating content,


joining conversations, and making connections on a one to one basis.

… because you know that when that other person (your target
customer) clicks into your profile/page, your headline (offer) is going to
attract them like flies to a light.

… then once they get there your pinhole funnel is going to convert
them at a rate that turns 100 measly unique clicks into a ​real
business.

… and you can only imagine what this system does with paid traffic.

So, how do you do it?

It’s simple.

1. Kill your website and switch (or start with) a Pinhole Funnel
2. Create an offer
3. Create a lead magnet
4. Create a two step landing page

I understand this may be a bit much right now but let’s walk through it
together.

… when I created my first funnel I used ClickFunnels, which is a great


software for building funnels and creating landing pages.

It’s a bit complex and takes a good amount of time to get used to.

It also gets a bit costly. I pay $297 per month for it and have a small
team that helps me run it.

.. and the email software is another $397 per month.

It’s quite dizzying to think about!

One of the aspects of Hustle Island is that we have a member-only
