 Fish preservation can extend the fish's shelf life. It is significant to ensure and secure
the quality of fish products so that we may be confident that the fish we buy are still
fresh and has the nutritious value that we expect. As consumers, we should be wise in
decision making in choosing foods, especially when purchasing fish or other
commodities to offer to our families.

2. Why do you need to know the characteristics of fresh and stale fish
 Nowadays we don't get fresh fish in the market. Today we don't get fresh fish like that.
They already freeze it as soon as they catch the fish. It is our right as consumers to
know the properties of fresh and stale fish, as well as whether they are healthy or not
to our body, especially at this time of pandemic. Most people are interested and
concerned about their own health, and they rarely socialize with others.

3. Why do you need to know and understand the agents of spoilage?


 As a consumer is it really important for us to know and understand the agents of
spoilage. Understanding the causes of food decomposition might help you avoid
germs and enzymes that cause food poisoning. There are numerous factors that
lead to food rotting, yet food deterioration is an unavoidable event. We should be
aware of all the ways food spoils so that we may do everything we can to avoid
food-borne illness being served at our dinner table.
