1. What conclusions can you draw from the practice of Health Informatics in the Philippines?

The implementation of health informatics in the Philippines has both positive and
negative effects. This modern method is good to use so that the hospital can provide proper
services to the people. It is useful for the storage, retrieval and use of healthcare information
to foster better collaboration among a patient's various healthcare providers. With this
method, it is much easier to search the patient's medical records such as diagnosis, test
results, and medical scans. It is also good because it catalyzes progress in the field of
medicine. On the other hand, the negative effect of health informatics is that it can be
accessed by other people such as hackers which will cause violations of privacy and
confidentiality of the patient’s records. But the country is still struggling in this way because
very few are interested in this profession. This is a big challenge in the medical sector
because many are still not familiar to this modern process.

2. Would you recommend the use of Health Informatics in Cloud for your hospital? Why?

Yes, I will because this system has a huge advantage for my hospital services. This is
a smart way of storing patients’ medical records. It is easy for doctors to find, so they no
longer have difficulty in getting information about the patient’s medical history and it is less
time consuming. The test results are fast and easily available to the patients. The informations
are organized in a cloud storage and no longer requires spaces for keeping of records within
the hospital. The use of health informatics in the hospitals can also provide extra employment
for people such as IT graduates or those with good computer skills because they are experts
in operation of this process. Somehow it can help in the country’s economic growth. All that
needs to be done is to intensify the safety of these health records through frequent monitoring
and intense security so that they are not easily accessed and the privacy and confidentiality of
patients as well as the informations about the hospital are protected.
