CIIT (COMSATS Institution Of Information Technology) has started its operations at 1998, and
then it recognized its first campus at Islamabad on April 1998.It is declared as a degree awarding
institute by the federal government. CIIT have other campuses as well other than Islamabad at
Lahore, Abbottabad, Wah, Attack, Sahiwal and Vehari, whereas more campuses are to open
soon. CIIT is also trying to start its operations at the Gulf Countries. Now CIIT is upgrading its
name to COMSATS University and the work is in process by parliament.
The COMSATS campus at Lahore was established in Jan, 2001 in the building situated at
Defence Road and still working in the same building. Initially, classes were started in the 1st
week of March, 2002. In the first batch 7 programs were offered and around 300 students were
inducted in all programs. Total faculty at the time of start of the campus was consisted of 29
members. Currently, it is offering 39 graduate, undergraduate and masters level programs.
Enrolment in these programs has grown up to near about 7405 students. 492 faculty members
including 227 PhDs are providing their services in 13 departments of arts and sciences. All,
engineering programs are accredited by the Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC). National
Computing Education Accreditation Council (NCEAC) has awarded highest “W” category to the
Computer Sciences Department of the campus.

The understanding of CIIT improves all people, by the development of learning sharing of this
knowledge through education in an academically various range of disciplines and subjects, and
to the application of this knowledge in order to give the benefits to the people of Pakistan, in
particular, and the Muslim community and rest of the world, as a whole. Mission of quality
enhancement cell at CUI Lahore is to maintain the satisfaction of stakeholders in terms of quality
education and enhance it through continuous improvement.

according to our observation while collection the data for project. We recommended the
following points:
The admission department of Comsats Lahore should have enough space to handle the
candidates and their parents.
The Comsats should build a waiting room in order to facilitate the parents and applicants
during the admission process.
COMSATS should hire more employees in admission office in order to handle the
activities during the process of admission.
The staff of admission office make sure that all the necessary things like: stationary,
papers, printers should be offered in admission office, so that the process should be
handled quickly and efficiently.
The Supervisor who assist the internees should pass the appreciation to their internees for
the purpose of increase their efficiency.
The staff should not involve in making useless calls to the applicants, they must tell
students properly about the admission process before admission session starts.
NTS preparatory classes or online session must be given extra consideration so that no
one can raise question on it.
The COMSATS Courier service is fail to deliver the NTS deposits slip and registration
card to their applicants in time.
The Scholarship programs should defined in sequence and detailed form
