Rebar Coupler (Type-2) is a SAFE (considering earthquake induced forces) and ECONOMICAL (costs
less than overlap) alternative to overlaps in steel reinforcement bar in construction concrete.

The lapping relies on the concrete around
it to transfer the load. Poor concrete
strength will then compromise the load
carrying capacity and possibilities for
lapping failure during Earthquake.
The rebar coupler is superior in its load transfer as
it creates a direct connection between the 2 bars
that is similar in its behaviors to a continuous
reinforcing bar. As per ACI 318, it is recommended
to use Type-2 Coupler for achieving structural
integrity against Earthquake induced forces.
