COMMON LABORATORY EQUIPMENTS (ACTIVITY)

1. Name piece of glassware used for heating liquids?

 Beaker- used to store, mix and heat liquids in laboratories

 Graduated Cylinder- It is used to make an accurate liquid volume of measurements.
 Erlenmeyer Flask- It is a flask with a broad base and it is use for making solutions.

2. Which piece of equipment are used to obtain precise measurements of liquids?

-When accurate measurements are needed for liquid volume with graduations. A graduated
cylinder is used to accurately measure the volume of liquids.

3 Identify the differences between tongs and test tube holders?

-Test tube clamps are specifically designed to hold onto glass, which is what proper test tubes
are made of. They provide enough grip without breaking or damaging the test tubes. Tongs, meanwhile,
are for general use and depending on their function can be used for cooking, serving, handling heated
metal

4 What tool or tools would you use to make each of the following measurements?
a) Amount of milk in a small glass - Graduated Cylinder
b) Temperature of a swimming pool- Infrared thermometer. 
c) Mass of a baseball – Triple Beam Balance
