Thermal conduction happens when two objects in contact has different temperatures.
The best example
for thermal conduction I can think of is when I’m ironing my clothes, the iron is used to remove wrinkles from fabric, and the heat from the iron is transferred to the clothes by direct contact. Depending on the fabric, heating is typically done to a temperature of 180–220 °C. Ironing works by breaking the bonds between the long-chain polymer molecules in the material's fibers. The weight of the iron straightens the fibers while the molecules are hot, and they hold their new shape as they cool. Water is required to loosen the intermolecular bonds in some fabrics, such as cotton. The heat from the iron is utilized to break down polymer molecules and while the molecules are hot, the fibers are straightened by the weight of the iron, and they hold their new shape as they cool.to straighten the fabric. Ironing is an example of thermal conduction because the heat transfer is through direct contact of the iron and the clothes.
