I don’t think the government has done enough to address this issue, knowing that

on the very first month of the lockdown, there was no any intention of banning

international flights in the Philippines, which was one of the main reasons why our

COVID-19 cases kept increasing. Instead, the Philippine government relied heavily on

our military that did absolutely nothing in this pandemic but kill and punish the lives of

innocent who are just doing anything they can to provide food for their family, as

lockdowns were strictly being implemented. In fact, it must be the doctors, nurses, and

the Department of Health, whom we should be giving attention and a decent monthly

salary. Furthermore, the government should focus more on the long-term perspective

of COVID-19 and enforce responsiveness towards Filipinos who are struggling, and

provide them necessities rather than spending millions of money on leisure purposes for

instance, the dolomite sand in Manila Bay.

I do not think that there is an efficient allocation of the budget by now because

most of the budget were given to agencies which are not a frontliner in this pandemic

we are currently facing today. This could mean that the priority is not in order because it

should be the health services that must be prioritized first. Furthermore, the budget that

was spent on leisure purposes would have been very beneficial to the Department of

Health, as well as to the Filipinos who are struggling as we face this pandemic.
