Title : The Roma in Europe: 11 things you always wanted to know but were afraid to ask

Year : 2015

Blog : Amnesty

This article tell us about The roma live being in across Europe countries and Who are
they? What they do? Where do they come from? Etc. First I want to talk about why the roma or
we can call them gypsy but it is seems offended to them. anyway the romani have so many sub
groups like what its told in the article they were spread all around the world, But I assume that is
because the woman romani in Europe can’t work normally since they were being ignored by
government because they don’t have a legal document it is cause by they descendants that like
moving place to place or we can call it nomaden and then they were work as a prostitute girl so
they have a lot of mixed blood in them which results in many subgroups of romani. Roma came
from northern india at first they arrived at Europe and start to spread their way to the whole of
Europe from the 9th century. Back then they were travelled a lot but for this days the majority of
roma are settled in one place. In the 1930s the nazi saw roma as a racially inferior and murdered
hundreds of them during the world war II even after the world war II roma continued to be
discriminated For example like the roma in Europe they were live in village that is so far from
the city the village took like 14 km from the city. This is the interesting part that I like so much
the romani weren’t like to be called gypsy like at first I thought they were originally gypsy not
romani but in the most languages gypsy is considered insulting and get rejected by roma
organizations. Roma is the right word to call them regardless of their country of origin. It became
accepted in global term 1971. At this poin I feel relieved cause roma have their flag, anthem and
international day although they were spread all around the world. it really hurts to see a group of
humans being neglected due to racial differences in Europe millions of roma live in isolated
slums, often without any electricity and fresh water around them also the struggle to get health
care they need. Many roma live with the daily threat, police harassment and violent attacks.
Because of this roma have health problems, worse house and lower literacy. On average, they
earn less than their need without a good jobs or proper jobs they can’t afford or buy a thing that
they need in daily life such as a proper house, a good health care, and education.
