Step 3: Attach the side brackets to the rails of the suspended ceiling and the square bar using the setscrews. (Gorque 3Nm.) Step 4: Attach the reducer to the square tube using the center bracket. The reducer can be adjusted vertically by raising or lowering the reducer and center bracket can be adjusted from side to side before tightening the bracket setscrews. (Torque is 4Nm.) Step 5: Connect sprinkler head to reducer. Apply a nonhardening pipe joint compound or Teflon tape to the male threads of the sprinkler head ‘and connect with nut to the reducer according to the sprinkler head ~ manufacturer's instructions, using a special wrench supplied by the head manufacturer. Figure 3. After installation is completed, test the sprinkler system for leaks pursuant to NFPA Guidelines.
