Some of the various that are used to improve the likelihood of well receiving and

understanding the messages are as follows:

1. The best method to improve the likelihood of the effective communication is by getting

the feedback from the receiver. This feedback may be verbal or non verbal in nature.

2. The sender should focus on using the body language in the form such that it improves the

understanding of the message. Thus, focus on matching your words and actions may

improve the understanding of the message.

3. The language used is simplified enough, such that it is well understood by each and every

audience.

4. The use of more and more jargons and technical words needs to be avoided.

5. Try to use the multiple channels to transmit the message.

Some of the barriers that reduce or interferes the effective communication are as follows:

1. Interpersonal and intrapersonal barriers affect the likelihood of effective transformation

of message from sender to receiver.

2. Filtering the messages as per the need and requirement and not trying to listen and

understand the complete message.

3. Selective perception of the receiver, where the message is received on the basis of

experience, motivation, need, personal background and level of education.

4. Level of emotional intelligence, whereby the people start feeling that they are being

threatened, as a result of which they reduce their ability to understand the message in the

more effective form.


5. Cultural and language differences, whereby the sender uses several jargon or technical

language which is not understood by the receiver.

6. Misunderstanding of interpersonal communication, whereby the receiver unables to

understand the gestures and the body language of the sender.
