Detailed Technical Specification of MS Chequered Plate

Scope: Supply of MS Chequered Plate as per the following specifications

Specification:

1. MS chequered plates should conform to latest IS:3502.


2. Material: Steel (Base material) for chequered plates shall conform to the
requirements of Grade E 250A of IS 2062.
3. Standard Nominal dimensions and mass of sheet should be in compliance with
IS: 1730.
4. Nominal thickness of Plate :6.0mm
5. Nominal Length of plate : 2500 mm
6. Nominal width of plate: 1200 mm
7. Minimum bead height of chequered plate: 0.8mm
8. Pattern of chequered plates: Tear Drop
9. Supply condition: with mill edges
10. Finished material shall be free from harmful surface defects, such as cracks,
surface flaws, imperfect edges.
11. Marking : The top plate of each pile of chequered plates shall be legibly marked
with the following details
a) Manufacturer’s name or trade-mark
b) Cast No. or identification mark by which the steel can be traced to the cast
from which it has been made, and
c) Steel designation

a) Documents to be furnished along with the supply

The vendor shall submit Material test report from Central Government/NABL/ILAC
accredited lab to prove conformity to the specification along with the supply.

b) Inspection:

Inspection shall be carried out by NFC after delivery at NFC stores. For this, Samples
shall be cut out from the supplied items for analysis.

c) Item acceptance Criteria

The item shall be qualified subject to, but not limited to the following:

1. The nominal thickness of the plate should be 6mm.


2. The base material should conform to Grade E 250A of IS2062.
3. Standard Nominal dimensions and mass of sheet should be in compliance with IS:
1730.
d) Vendor Evaluation criteria

1. The vendor shall be Manufacturer or authorized dealer or distributor or authorized


stockist or channel partner of chequered plate.
