Edgar G. Rondero Jr.

BSCRIM 3

TERM PAPER

He’s nickname is “mandoy” our neighbor and was convicted under R.A
9165 ("Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002") and undergoing a probation here in
our community.
As I interviewed him, he said to me that he is undergoing probation in here
(in our community) because the detention center is so crowded, some inmates are
standing while sleeping and other cells has about 20-30 persons inside and it’s so
very hot. He also told me that the business in there is so good even one (1)
cigarette cost almost one (1) thousand pesos, he also told me that inmates are not
poor inside because they have money income of the things they did and also their
allowance, he also saws the contrabands in there. He also said that in the entrance
of a detention center is so strict but inside the center all the contrabands are in
there. As I asked him if he went to some activities and he said, Yes, every morning
they gather and do some exercise, and they also go to study hall or bible sharing
for spiritual and emotional health and they also have a dance activity, cleaning
activity. And some other therapy.
As what I heard from him when I interviewed him, I feel sorry for them but
at the same time it is good for them, because the things they does can make
innocent people in danger. Therefor my recommendation for our detention center
not only detention centers but also the jail guards to be more faithful of their job
that they should not be the one who is leading the some corrupt practices inside.
Also we need our detention center to be expanded/big so that inmates can sleep
well and can eat much foods. That’s all what I can recommend because he don’t
have a lot of budget in that things for criminals we pay big taxes just for criminals
foods and shelter.
