mainly Carbon and Oxygen in which Carbon is maintained by the Carbon Cycle. Carbon is absorb by plants for photosynthesis. These plants are then consumed by animals, and absorbs carbon into their bodies. When these animals die, their bodies decomposed and carbon is released back into the atmosphere. Some carbons that are not released back into the atmosphere will become fossil fuels. These fossil fuels will be use by man which will produce more carbons and are released back into the atmosphere. Different Characteristics of Carbon
Carbon is a non-metallic chemical element
Most of the things around us contains carbon Carbon exist in different forms which has its own characteristics such as diamonds and graphite in a well-defined form and fullerene which is composed of entirely carbon Carbon belongs to group 14 or Group 4-A, Period 2 and Block P in periodic table It has an atomic number of 6 Its melting and boiling point are both at 3,825°C Carbon has an atomic mass of 12.011 Carbon contains 4 electrons which means its valence electrons is 4 to make it stable. Density is 3.513 g/cm-3 in diamond and 2.2 g/cm-3 in graphite Key isotopes are 12C, 13C, 14C
