ABSTRACT:

Communication is one of the most important aspects in any


organization. A good communication helps in the daily growth
and influences of the organization. If corporate communications
are not good then it may affect its development. Communication
always helps in understanding and clearing concepts for better
improvement and success. A good communication brings
transparency between the customer and the organization
leading to a good customer organization relationship. A good
communication also helps in good negotiation. Communication
is needed to understand the needs within the organization and
also outside it. In this study, for better understanding I will be
explaining my own personal experience, the barriers and
challenges.

INTRODUCTION
Communication can help in understanding and also in building relationships.
Having good communication will make you more positive and confident. We have
seen many people having good communication become successful and also grow
with a positive attitude. Paying more attention to our communication and also
correcting it with practical speaking is a must in order to be fluent in delivering
the correct message. Barriers of communication in organizations can lead to
inefficient production or even jarring halts in workflow. Effective communication
can help reduce error rate and also misunderstandings. An Effective
communication also boosts the psychological action of an individual. According to
Paul J. Meyer “Communication-the human connection- is the key to personal and
career success.” Poor communication can actually cost your job.

 Description of organization:
The following assessment is directed towards evaluation of the case of an IT
Transformation Service company which was founded in 1998 whose headquarters
are in the National Capital Region (NCR) of India. Its services included End User
Services, Cloud Managed Services, Digital Workplace Solutions and cybersecurity
Services .

 Primary purpose of the report :


The primary purpose of the report is vested in addressing the
communication challenges encountered by the case study in corporate life. The
report aims in evaluating the communication related issue faced by the
organization and develop insights for resolving the issue.
 Personal Barriers :
Overcoming barriers of communication can help individuals achieve
desired outcomes such as personal development, career success or improvement in
interpersonal relationships. Being an introvert is one of the major disadvantages
because introverts have a very hard time in opening themself up or putting their
points forward. Their verbal communications are not as strong as the extroverts.
Not communicating can affect you in many ways. Non communication limits the
closeness of relationship and employee engagements. Being an introvert has

always held me back from communicating effectively at school, college or work
place. The result of this was unclear doubts, lack of progress and also resulting in
lack of confidence. Not having good communication took away many opportunities
and also prevented most of my growth. There are many times when introverts work
their hardest but someone else takes all the credit because of lack of effective
communication. I was a girl who always liked to be at the back covering to be
unnoticed. This introverted nature affected my communication which in turn
affected my confidence. Because of lack of communication, I was not able to
socialize well or even make friends. This Communication barriers also led to
distribution of misinformation, Misunderstanding or misconstruing a situation or a
directive, Failure to convey relevant information in a timely manner.

 Workplace barrier:
Good communication is always needed in the workplace for good
performance and also building a relationship within the organization and outside.
I was working as a cloud engineer trainee in one of the IT Companies and because
of not being able to communicate well I faced many challenges in my organization.
Even during my training when I had certain doubts, I could not clear it or even ask
questions. This non communication always increased my work which could have
been simple if I had communicated and cleared all my doubts on time. Once I was
assigned to do Patching activity on one of the big organizations' servers on
Microsoft Azure before the activity my senior had explained to me all the major
steps to be taken while doing the task. He told me not to use one of the main
servers that worked pan India as a jump server because if by any chance we
restart that server then it will affect pan India resulting in major loss. There are
some servers that need a jump server in order to be accessed. Jump server acts as
a main server to open other servers and in order to open the jump server we need
to first whitelist our ip. The main point that my senior forgot to cover was to give
the list of the main servers that worked pan India. Instead of communicating with
him and clearing my doubt regarding this I choose to keep quiet and continue with
my task. I made the same mistake that my senior told me not to make and that is to
take the man server as a jump server. I whitelisted my ip for the jump server and
through Remote desktop protocol (RDP) I accessed it. Inside the jump server I

again took RDP to access the server that needed to be patched. When I was
performing my activity everything was going well. Sometimes when we access a
server inside another server the taskbar of the second server does not load and
only the taskbar of the main server shows. This same problem had arisen when I
was performing the activity. After the activity was performed the server that was
patched needed to be restarted. This was when I made the major mistake that
affected pan India. Since the task bar of the server did not load, I restarted the
main server thinking it was the taskbar of the server that was patched. Because of
this mistake the servers in Pan India went down resulting in a major loss. If this
situation was communicated and doubts were cleared then neither of such
situations would have arisen. Communication can help in various losses and also
make situations clear and easy to handle. My one mistake of not communicating
led to a very major loss. Communication is very important to make an
organization run in a very smooth way and also have no way for questions or loss.
Organization communications are bound to suffer due to ineffective
communication. After such a major mistake the organization handled the situation
really well, they communicated with the company whose servers where patched
and also took major steps for the same which brought to the understanding of
human mistake.

 Learning:
In this situation I learned how important communication is to avoid such
major risks. If I had communicated with my senior regarding the list of main
servers that worked pan India then despite such a situation or error it would not
have affected much or no major loss would have happened. Even though they
understood and did not say anything to me as it was a taskbar error and not much
of my mistake, the question still arises on why I did not communicate before
whitelisting my ip on one of the main servers. After such a situation when I started
communicating and clearing my doubt in every situation my work progress
increased and I was able to do all my work without error. I was also able to
understand my colleagues and work as a group and team with them, helping each
other wherever we found difficulty. My bond with the manager also became strong
and he also helped and trained me to a perfect level. Since I learned how
important communication is and started improving in it all my tasks became easy
and less stressful.
