The existence of a dictionary as a means of supporting learning a language is common. In the past, there
were only dictionaries in the form of books. But along with technological developments, there are now
online dictionaries that can be accessed via smartphones or others. Therefore, we conducted a survey to
find out how many people use online dictionaries as a means of learning a language.

Based on the results of a survey we have conducted, it was found that 96% of students, college students,
and even people who are already working still often use online dictionaries to study or just know English
vocabulary. They stated that using the online dictionary was very easy.
There are various kinds of online dictionary applications available on smartphones, such as Google
translate, Oxford Dictionary, and the one they use the most is the U-Dictionary application.
The reason they prefer to use an online dictionary is because it is practical, easy, fast, and can be used
anywhere. But some of them also think that using online dictionaries is very helpful, but sometimes the
grammar in online dictionaries is not organized, so some of them do not use online dictionaries as a
means to learn English.
Respondents from this survey got 45 answers consisting of several students, college students, to people
who are not in education level.
