Thiourea dioxide is also called formamidine sulfinic acid and is often abbreviated as thiourea dioxide
(TOD). This is a powdered stable compound, which dissolves in water and decomposes gradually to
produce sulfoxylic acid through formamidine sulfinic acid to exhibit a reducing action. It has
characteristics strong reductant, good heat stability, reducing agent, easy operation and transportation.
It is that mainly used synthetics, additive of polythene, reducing agent in printing and dyeing industry,
pulp bleaching and paper industry.
