SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY

Respondents

Through this study, the unvaccinated individuals will be able to increase their awareness

on COVID-19 vaccination upon which they could better address problems and concerns and

able to boost their vaccine acceptance.

SCOPE AND DELIMITATION

The study will only examine the perceptions of unvaccinated individuals towards COVID-

19 vaccination. The target population are unvaccinated individuals of the top 3 most populated

municipalities or cities in District 2 of the Province of Ilocos Norte, namely; Batac City, San

Nicolas and Dingras. They must also be 18 years old and above and fall under COVID-19

vaccination priority group A2, A3, A4, A5, B1, B2, B3, B4, B5, B6 and C. Individuals who are

vaccinated, not living in Batac City, San Nicolas and Dingras, below 18 years old and A1 are

excluded in the study.

The researchers would also look into the demographic profile of the target population

as to their age, sex, civil status, highest educational attainment, COVID-19 vaccine category

only, in which other demographic data will no longer be covered. Furthermore, the positive and
negative perceptions of the respondents towards COVID-19 vaccination as to physical, mental,

emotional and social aspects will only be considered and other aspects would be disregarded.

While on their perceptions about the COVID-19 vaccine in terms of its use, factors to be

covered are the efficacy, safety, risks; and side effects only.

OPERATIONAL DEFINITION OF TERMS

Demographic Profile. This refers to the personal information of the respondents which

particularly include the following:

Age. This refers to the biological number of years that the respondent has lived.

Sex. This refers to being a male or female.

Civil status. This refers to being married, single, divorced, or widowed.

Highest educational attainment. This refers to the highest level of education that a

respondent has successfully completed namely, Doctorate in Post Graduate Studies, Master’s

Degree, Bachelor's Degree, Technical vocational, High School and Elementary.

COVID-19 vaccine category. This refers to the categorization of population groups for

the COVID-19 vaccination program in the Philippines imposed by the Department of Health,

namely; A1, A2, A3, A4, A5, B1, B2, B3, B4, B5, B6 and C.
