BODE PLOT

 Bode plot is a graphical method to analyze the stability of the system in

frequency domain. It has two parts Magnitude and Phase plot.
 In Bode plot Magnitude and Phase are plotted against Logarithmic values of
frequencies .Therefore Bode plot is also called Logarithmic plot.
 Magnitude plot:
Magnitude in dB against logarithmic values of frequencies is called magnitude
plot.
 Phase plot:
Phase angle in degree against logarithmic values of frequencies is called phase
plot.

 Gain Margin:
It is the amount of gain for which system remains stable . Gain margin occurs
at phase crossover frequency (wpc) at phase angle of -1800
 Phase Margin:
 It is the amount of Phase for which system remains stable . Phase margin
occurs at phase crossover frequency (wgc) at gain of 0dB.
 Gain crossover frequency (wgc)
It is the frequency at 0dB
 Phase crossover frequency (wpc)
It is the frequency at -1800
System is stable for System is unstable for System is marginally stable
positive GM and positive negative GM and negative for GM and PM is equal to
PM PM zero

ω GC < ω PC ω GC > ω PC ω PC= ω GC
