To whomever it may concern,

My name is Ayleen Perez and I’m enrolled as a junior at Carson High School in the ESET
(Environmental, Science, Engineering, and Technology) academy. I am writing to show my
interest in this position. I have great leadership skills that help lead a group or help me
individually which grants me motivation. I’m very optimistic as well, optimism and motivation
are very important when working in groups.

Throughout my high school career, I’ve kept a GPA of 3.8/3.7. I have set long-term goals for
myself. These goals are related to my education, such as graduating with a major in engineering.
Another would be to get my dream job. There might be some difficulties, but I’ll reach these
goals. I’ve taken steps that have gotten me closer to this, for example, my advanced skill in math
and taking as many math classes as I can. I’m also taking classes that will benefit me in the
future like my computer science class. Last year, I took a trip to Wyoming with fellow
classmates. All expenses were paid by the school so I didn’t spend a single cent. During the time
there I was able to develop leadership skills by leading others and fulfilling their needs. I also
joined my school’s marching band. I was able to learn and help my fellow bandmates. I was very
committed to my work and practice. I sacrificed a lot of my time to do good in school and I don’t
regret it one bit. All of these skills that I learned from being in these groups will definitely
benefit me in future jobs/internships.
