WHAT’S NEW (ACTIVITY 1)

Frankly speaking, I dislike how the website was designed. As I look closely into it, the first thing I
noticed was the balance and alignment. It looks scattered and out of place. Another thing is, the
font size, color and style used does not show any consistency which makes it confusing and
difficult to read. Also, the objects are tightly enclosed and it shows no proximity at all. The
texture seemed off too. Overall, it is not user-friendly and eye-catching. I don’t see any proper
application of the elements and principles of design.

WHAT I CAN DO (PERFORMANCE TASK)

I highly suggest the creator should consider first what his website is for by giving emphasis, like
contrast, to the specific elements which he/she wants to stand out. Another important thing is
to apply the proper arrangement of elements. The balance must be either symmetrical,
asymmetrical or radial to maintain stability and structure to the design. Also include proximity,
space and alignment so it won’t look messy/disorganized. Additionally, the design must show
harmony and unity. The creator must apply repetition, pattern, and rhythm to add consistency
and strengthen the design; as much as possible, there should be a theme. The website design
also lacks materials to make different designs or arts. It would be more captivating if the creator
applies proper texture and the three properties of color to add visual aids. Color has the
strongest emotional power of all the elements because it is one of the most pleasurable parts
of a website design.
