A. WHAT KIND OF NEGOTIATOR ARE YOU?


I think I’m the analyst in kind of negotiators because I’m a person who thinks first before
I speak. I consider myself an analyst since I am the type of person who spends hours preparing
because I hate mistakes and surprises. Furthermore, I prefer to come in a negotiating area
equipped with data, facts, and information. Listening to things attentively provides me with
adequate information since knowledge is the power to me. And having a perceived indifference
will force the other party to reveal facts, which allow them to make an informed decision.

B. In your own opinion, are you a good negotiator? Yes or No (Why?)


Yes, because I can negotiate with the client to change the deal in my favor. I also had
the best source of power which is my ability and desire to walk away and take another deal.
Because a wise negotiator spends significant time identifying the best alternative to a
negotiated agreement, or BATNA, and taking steps to improve it. As the great Jean-Jacques
Rousseau said: “There are times when I am so unlike myself that I might be taken for someone
else of an entirely opposite character.” For me, it means being aware of our personality will
enable us to leverage our natural style and improve our negotiation skills.
