“In what aspect of your life you were able to show the different sides
of yourself?”

People show their identity through self-expression. They can express themselves
in a variety of ways, including how they dress, what they say, and many forms of artistic
expression. Self-expression refers to the act of expressing how you feel by using your
thoughts and what appeals to you. We can be seen as individuals rather than identical
robots because of our ability to express ourselves.

I guess for me, through my physical appearance or physical aspect, I may

express various aspects of myself. My parents were quite strict when I was growing up.
We should not do that, this, or wear that, and the list goes on and on about what we
should and should not do. I used to be a simple girl, but when I reached grade 10, I
became aware of my appearance. However, I am unable to do what I want, such as
putting on makeup or simply making myself presentable, because they always tell me
what to do, and sometimes my classmates would tease me even applying a tiny amount
of lip tint though it is allowed in our school.

I'm in a completely different environment when I'm in senior high school, and I'm
free from my parents because I'm a teenager and they want me to explore. I came out
and let the people around me see who I really am. I began to dress in ways that I felt
comfortable in and start applying makeup. I'm grateful since the atmosphere at STI isn't
judgmental. This increased my self-confidence. When I put on makeup, I start feeling
more attractive. It also helps me with my mental health because if I feel uncertain or
anxious, I do my makeup and immediately feel better. This turned into a form of therapy
for me.

My point is that people nowadays find it difficult to be themselves since many

reasons prevent them from fully expressing themselves. Each person possesses their
own personality, way of life, attitude, and way of thinking. Do whatever makes you
happy and don't pretend to be someone you're not when you know who and what you
really want to be, but you should also be mindful of your limitations.
