Abstract
The rapid development of technology causes almost all activities today can not be separated from
technology. The rapid development of technology causes almost all activities today can not be
separated from technology. Various E-Commerce applications are currently available, namely
Shopee, Tokopedia, Bukalapak, Lazada, Olx, ZALORA, Blibli, and JD.ID. According to Suyanto
(2003:10), Electronic Commerce is a new concept that can be described as the process of buying
and selling goods or services on the World Wide Web (WWW) internet or the process of buying
and selling or exchanging products, services, and information through information networks
including the internet. This study aims to determine the E-Commerce applications that are
currently popular in the digital era 5.0. The results of this study are as many as 96.4% of people
who use mobile phones to access various e-commerce applications, such as 85.7 people who
access the shopee application with a pleasant experience as many as 66.1% and 46.4% of people
with 30 minutes – 1 hour to open an electronic trade. From our survey, most of the people use
Shopee E-Commerce app as their favorite shopping app.

can complete this research proposal to fulfill the task of the Professional English course group
entitled E-Commerce Application Usage Survey.

We are fully aware that this research report is far from perfect due to the limitations of our
experience and knowledge. Therefore, we expect all forms of suggestions and input and even

CHAPTER I
PRELIMINARY

Background.

The rapid development of technology causes almost all activities today can not be separated from
technology. According to https://www.merdeka.com/ in general, the notion of technology is a
science that studies skills in creating tools to processing methods to help complete various human
jobs. Technology has great benefits in human life. With technology, various activities of human
life can run more easily and efficiently. The rapid development of technology has resulted in
changes in various fields of human life. One example of a field of human life that has changed is
the process of shopping that can be done using E-Commerce applications. An E-Commerce
application is an electronic commerce application that can be accessed via the internet. Various
E-Commerce applications are currently available, namely Shopee, Tokopedia, Bukalapak, Lazada,
Olx, ZALORA, Blibli, and JD.ID.

The use of E-Commerce applications in human life has many benefits. One of the benefits that
can be felt when using an E-Commerce application is that it does not require a lot of energy to
buy a product. But the use of E-Commerce applications in shopping also has drawbacks. One
example of a shortage of shopping using an E-Commerce application is that the purchased
product cannot be viewed directly. In the shopping process with E-Commerce applications, there
are various factors to consider. One example of a factor to consider is shipping costs.

Based on (https://bpptik.kominfo.go.id) the E-Commerce application is one of the applications


that is widely used today. This is because buying products through E-Commerce applications can
be done more easily. So because of the large number of users of E-Commerce applications, we
surveyed E-Commerce applications that are currently popular in the current digital 5.0 era.

Formulation of the problem

Based on the above background, the formulation of the problem in this study is what
E-Commerce Applications are currently popular in the digital 5.0 era?

Research purposes

The purpose of this study is to find out which E-Commerce applications are currently popular in
the digital 5.0 era.
Benefits of research

The expected benefit of the research from the results of this study is that the reader knows the
E-Commerce applications that are currently popular in the digital era 5.0

CHAPTER II

Literature review
2.1 Shopping
Shopping is one of the activities that is often done. By shopping a person can meet the needs of
his life. In this day and age, the shopping process can not only be done directly but can also be
done through the E-Commerce application. Today many people prefer to shop online through
E-Commerce applications. One of the factors that cause many people to prefer to shop online is
the price of products that are much cheaper. While one of the advantages of shopping offline is
being able to see the products purchased directly.

In carrying out the shopping process, various types of payment methods are available. One
example of a type of payment method when shopping using an E-Commerce application is Cash
On Delivery (COD). While one example of the type of payment method that shoppers offline is by
paying cash directly. The difference between offline and online shopping is that when shopping
online, buyers only use E-Commerce applications as an intermediary medium for buyers and
sellers. While shopping offline, the buyer must visit the seller's place.

2.2 Aplikasi E-Commerce


In this day and age, there are almost no people who have never shopped using E-Commerce
applications. According to Suyanto (2003:10) Electronic Commerce is a new concept that can be
described as the process of buying and selling goods or services on the World Wide Web (WWW)
internet or the process of buying and selling or exchanging products, services and information
through information networks including the internet. One of the benefits of using E-Commerce
applications in shopping is that less energy is spent in buying a product.

According to (Suyanto. M. 2003) the classification of e-commerce that is commonly done by


people is based on the nature of the transaction, which is as follows:

1. Business-to-business (B2B)
Most e-commerce that is implemented today is of the B2B type. This type of e-commerce
includes the IOS transactions described above as well as inter-organizational transactions carried
out in the electronic market. For example, Wal-Mart and Warner-Lambert.
2. Business-to-consumer (B2C)
This is a retail transaction with an individual buyer. The typical shopper on Amazon.com is a
consumer or a customer.

3. Consumer-to-consumer (C2C)
In this category, a consumer sells directly to other consumers. An example is when there are
individuals who make sales in classified ads and sell residential properties, cars and so on.

4. Consumer-to-business (C2B)
Included in this category are individuals who sell products or services to organizations, and
individuals who seek sellers, interact with them and conclude a transaction.

5. Non-business E-commerce
Today more and more non-business institutions such as academic institutions, non-profit
organizations, religious organizations, social organizations, and government institutions are using
various types of e-commerce to reduce costs or to improve operations and public services.

6. Intrabusiness (Organizational)
E-commerce In this category are all internal organizational activities, usually carried out on the
internet, that involve the exchange of goods, services or information. The activities covered can
range from selling company products to workers, to online training and cost cutting. Note that
what I call iOS is part of B2B. The electronic market, on the other hand, can be associated with
B2B or B2C.

2.3 Hipotesis
The temporary hypothesis in this study is that the E-Commerce application that is currently
popular in the digital 5.0 era is the Tokopedia application.
CHAPTER III

A.Research method :
This research is intended to see the development of e-commerce applications. Also
see how useful this e-commerce application is in the wider community and of course
students from the State University of Malang.
Collection techniques The types of data and data collection techniques used in this
study include:
1. Main data
The main data is collected directly from the answers of respondents who have filled out
the questions from the given survey.
2. Secondary data
Secondary data is the stage of data collection that aims to support the existing primary
data. The data taken include: the average time spent opening an e-commerce application,
the type of transaction, and why using an e-commerce application.
B. Data analysis technique :
Descriptive method can be interpreted as a problem solving procedure that is investigated
by describing the state of the subject or object in the study, which can be in the form of
people, institutions, communities and others which are currently based on visible facts or
what they are.

a. Lokasi Penelitian

The research entitled The most popular e-commerce application in the Digital Era 5.0 will
be conducted on Google Form.

Google Form was chosen because it is the easiest access and the results of the data issued
are complete.

b. Hasil Analisis

From the survey results using descriptive analysis methods, it can be obtained data that
many people often use e-commerce by using e-wallet to shop for various needs such as
fashion, electronics, and others, because e-commerce provides easy access to shopping. As
many as 96.4% of people use mobile phones to access various e-commerce applications,
such as 85.7 people accessing the shopee application with a pleasant experience as many
as 66.1% and 46.4% of people spending 30 minutes – 1 hour to open electronic commerce
. With many Shopee e-commerce users, e-commerce applications can continue to
innovate. Innovations that have been implemented from Shopee such as Shopee Food.
Because during the pandemic, many people buy food online, this situation is well utilized
by Shopee. Other e-commerce applications must also always innovate if users do not want
to be abandoned. Thus, the number of users of e-commerce applications, especially
shopee, is due to easy and practical access so that many users feel comfortable and
satisfied with the services provided by e-commerce applications and the many features
offered by e-commerce applications to facilitate online buying and selling transactions.

From the data we can get, we observe that this e-commerce application is very helpful in
shopping even during this pandemic. According to Cohen, et.al, (2007, p. 101) the larger
the sample from the existing population, the better, but there is a minimum number that
must be taken by researchers, which is 30 samples. So that the respondents in this study
were more than 30 respondents, namely 56 respondents. Of the total 56 respondents,
100% of respondents stated that they had shopped at e-commerce applications. The survey
states that shopping at e-commerce not only does not spend more energy to shop, but there
are several things that support why respondents choose e-commerce applications for
shopping such as cheaper products, easier shopping access, and a large variety of products
and services. good and user experience when using the application which the majority are
satisfied with the e-commerce.

A. Conclusion

The results of the survey that we have done, the popularity of e-commerce application users
shopee 85%, Tokopedia 12.5%, and Lazada 1.8%. From our survey, the majority of people use
shopee e-commerce application as their favorite shopping application. One of the benefits that can
be felt when using E-Commerce applications is to assist consumers in checking, planning, or
direct purchases or ordering services or goods for certain businesses and can also easily and
quickly develop businesses because of the costs incurred. that must be spent not as much as when
building an offline store.

B. Suggestion

As an e-commerce application with the lowest popularity, Lazada must always innovate if it does
not want to be abandoned by its users, An interesting and different innovation from other
e-commerce applications so that more people use this application and its popularity. increase
again. Otherwise, Lazada can continue to be abandoned by its users one by one until it runs out
forever.
As the most popular e-commerce application, it does not mean that Shopee will stop innovating.
Innovation must be continuous and more attractive. If not, one day Shopee could become the most
popular e-commerce application because it was abandoned by its users. After all, the features of
this app are unchanging and boring.
Tokopedia must also innovate so that application users can survive and thrive and for other
e-commerce applications, they must also innovate and create their uniqueness in order to attract
people's interest to use the application and make their favorite application for shopping.
