1.) Islam is simply an Arabic word which literally means “Submission to God”. The term Islamic
holds that the Qur’an should guide social, political as well as personal life. It does not specify
what vision of “Islamic order” or sharia. People tend to refer to groups who aim to establish a
sharia-based Islamic state.
2.) Muslims prescribes a brief prayer or ritual worship five times a day: at dawn, noon, late
afternoon, sunset and night. Muslims perform ablution before prayer – a brief described
washing of the hands, mouth, nose, face, arms and feet.
3.) The two major sources of the religion of Islam is the Quran and Hadith. These two are where the
majority of the teachings come from. When looking for guidance, a Muslim often refers back to
one of these two in order to educate themselves on a topic. The Quran is the central religious
text of islam.
