বহুদিন আগে আমার বাবা তার খালি জমিতে একটা গরিব পরিবারকে থাকতে দিয়েছিলেন।
বেশ কয়েক বছর পর বাবা বাড়ি করার জন্য জমিটা ছাড়তে বললে তারা ছাড়তে রাজি হলো না। পরে অনেক কসরত
করে, টাকা পয়সা দিয়ে তাদেরকে সরানো হয়েছিল।
শুনে যা বুঝলাম, তাহলো একটা জমিতে অনেকদিন থাকলে নাকি তাতে তার অধিকার জন্মে যায়।
আমিতো অবাক। দয়া করে থাকতে দিয়েছে। কোথায় কৃ তজ্ঞ হবে, তানা উল্টো দখল করে বসে আছে। ভাবলাম জমির
ব্যাপারতো তাই লোভ সামলাতে পারেনি।

আমি যেখানে থাকি সেখানে এক রিক্সাওয়ালা আছে আমার দেশি। বাজারে সে থাকলে আমি তার রিক্সাতেই আসি।
বাজার থেকে আমার বাসা পর্যন্ত ভাড়া ৪০ টাকা ফিক্সড। তবে আমি নিয়মিত ৫০ টাকা দিতাম।
একদিন আমার কাছে খুচরা ৪৫ টাকা ছিলো। ঐ টাকাই দিলাম। টাকাটা দেয়ার সাথে সাথে একরকম চিৎকার করে
উঠলো, “ আর ৫ টাকা ? " আমি কিছুক্ষন চুপ থেকে বললাম, " ভাড়াতো ৪০ টাকা, বাকি ৫ টাকা ফেরত দেন।
"লোকটা হেসে বলল না সবসময়তো ৫০ টাকা দেন তাই কইলাম। ভাবলাম থাক গরিব মানুষতো, তাই এমন করলো।

রোজ বাচ্চাকে স্কু লে দিতে যায়। তার গোয়ালাটা সে ফেরার আগে দুধ নিয়ে আসে। আমি বাসায় না থাকায় সেই দুধ নেয়ার

প্রতিবেশি হিসেবে এটু কু উপকারতো করতেই হয়। একদিন আমার কাজের লোকটি কোথাও একটা কাজে বেড়াতে
গেছে, দুধটা আর নেয়া হয়নি। আমি বাসায় ফেরার পর উনি এসে বলল,
" আপনার কাজের লোক কোথায়? "
-- একটু বেড়াতে গেছে।
--আমাকে আগে বলল না। এখন দেখেনতো আমার ছোট ছেলেটা কি খাবে ? আগে বললে আমি অন্য কাউকে দায়িত্ব
দিতাম।
--ভাবি ও হয়তো ভু লে গেছে।
--না ভাবি যাই বলেন কোনো দায়িত্ব নিলে ঠিক ভাবে পালন করতে হয়।
--ভাবি ও হয়তো আপনার এই দায়িত্বের জন্য উপযুক্ত পারিশ্রমিক পায়না তাই অবহেলা করেছে। আপনি বরং দায়িত্বটা
অন্য কাউকে দিয়েন।
সে কিছুক্ষন আমার দিকে তাকিয়ে থেকে গটগট করে চলে গেলো। ভাবলাম, অল্প শিক্ষিত মহিলাতো তাই এমন
আরকি।

আমার এক কলিগ। গর্ভ বতী হয়ে অফিসে কাজ করেন, আমি তার কষ্ট দেখে তার একটা কাজের দায়িত্ব নিজে থেকেই
নিলাম।
সে মাতৃ ত্বকালীন ছুটিতে গেলো। সে ফিরেও এলো। তাকে কাজটা ফিরিয়ে দিতে চাইলে সে গরিমসি শুরু করলো।
ভাবটা এমন যে কাজটা আমারই ছিলো। এবার ভাবনাটা বদলালাম।
আসলে মানুষ একটা সুবিধা বেশিদিন ভোগ করলে সেটাকে তার অধিকার ভেবে নেয়।
ভু লে যায় --"It's facility, not right." তাই শুধু সুবিধা দেয়া নয়, নেয়ার ক্ষেত্রেও সাবধান থাকা দরকার। হিউম্যান
বিহেভিয়ার খুব অদ্ভু ত। এটা প্রায় সবার ক্ষেত্রেই কাজ করে।

টিউশনি করানোর সময় আন্টি প্রতিদিন নাস্তা দিতেন। হঠাৎ টানা ২-৩ দিন নাস্তা না দেয়ায় আমার খুব খারাপ
লেগেছিল, আরে নাস্তাই দিল না। পরে অবশ্য আমার নিজের আচরণে আমি নিজেই অবাক হই। আমার সাথে তো
কখনো অভিভাবক এর নাস্তা নিয়ে চুক্তি হয়নি,
তারা তো আমাকে নাস্তা দিতে বাধ্য নন।
বরং নাস্তা দেয়ার জন্য আমার তাদের প্রতি কৃ তজ্ঞতা প্রকাশ করা উচিৎ ছিল। কোনটা অধিকার আর কোনটা অতিরিক্ত
পাচ্ছি, সেটা বোঝা জরুরি।

তাই যতোটু কু সম্ভব সবার ভু ল গুলো ধরিয়ে দিন।

to school every day to give her baby. Before she returned from school, her cowherd brought cow's

you have to do so much good. One day my maid went on a trip somewhere. The milk was not
taken.When I got home my neighbor asked me," where your maidwas?" I said," he went for a strip ."
Then my neighbor said ,"he would not let me know. Now what will my little boy eat? If I had known
in advance, I would have given the responsibility to someone else." I said ,"Bhabhi may be he had
forgotten." Then my neighbor said that ,"if take any responsibility, have to fulfill it properly." Then I
said ,"Bhabhi maybe you are not getting proper remuneration for this work .so have neglected. You
would rather give the responsibility to someone else." Bhabhi looked at me for a while and then left.I
said in my mind that a less educated woman is like that. I used to do tuition. When I went to do
tuition, my student's mother I mean aunty used to give breakfast.Suddenly I felt bad for not having
breakfast for two or three days.Later I find myself amazed at my own behavior and my own
thinking.I should have thought I had no agreement with my student parents about breakfast and they

taka per day.But suddenly one day a contactor said uncle the bus fare is 10 taka.I said why - the bus
fare is five taka.He argued and said the bus fare is 10 taka .Then I asked him to show me the rent
chart. He will not show. I said if you don't show rent chart I won't pay rent.At the end he showed the
chart. I saw the rent was five taka.Then he said well brother you pay 5 rupees. And on the bus he
gave back to all those from whom he had taken more money. 3) I went to the market to buy chicken.I
used to buy chickens by measuring them but when I took them in my hand, the weight of the
chickens seemed to be a little less.But when the shopkeeper measured on the machine, I saw that the
weight was right in the machine. After a few days like this, I had a little doubt.I bought a chicken one
day and measured it twice before and after it was cut and took it to another place and measured it
twice more.Saw there are less than 300 grams.Then the day I went to buy chickens I bought chickens
and made a video before and after cutting the chickens. And when I gave him the price, I gave him
less than 300 grams.‌He saw less money and started shouting. Then I told her you gave less chicken
so I gave less money. But he refuses. Then I told him I would go somewhere else and look at the
measure. I also showed him the video. I told him I would call the consumer department if there were
fewer chickens here. He was frightened and realized his mistake .And he apologized to me and said
he would never do that again. 4) I started a technical business with 7 friends when I was doing BSC
with EEE at the university.We mainly worked with CCTV cameras and security devices.We started
with very little money. But two years later we saw that the profit of our business is coming quite well
and the business is going very well.We had so much faith in these seven friends that we didn't feel
the need to make any documents.Profits from business would be divided equally.But suddenly two of
our 7 friends started cheating on others.They used to work for many clients without informing us and
they used to earn money which they would not give us any more.We others found out about it one
day. But we could not take legal help as we did not have any documents.Therefore, proper
documents should be prepared before starting any business.
