For me, the most populated among the nine circles of hell outlined in Dante’s Inferno is the ninth

circle which is the circle of Betrayal. This circle consists of those who betrayed their loved ones,
their country, and their God. In this circle, Brutus, Cassius and Judas is imprisoned guarded by
Satan. According to Dante, this is “lowest, blackest, and farthest from Heaven” for this is not a
sin but a betrayal of heart. We live in a world where honesty and loyalty is very hard to find, and
lying and betrayal is intermittent. People lie and betray in so many different ways like,
politicians lying about their achievements, and or credentials, turning back on their word about
giving and fighting for this country, even hiding negotiations from other countries. Regular
people like us also lie, to our parents, to our friends, to our loved ones, even those considered as
white lies are still lies and be considered a betrayal of trust.
