I work at The Dog Pound, a retail food service contracted by Sodexo at Thomas College. The Dog
Pound offers hot and cold fast foods such as subs, sandwiches, and other quick food items, as well as
prepackaged food items and drinks. My job began as a part-time work study in 2017, and I was hired
part-time by Sodexo in January of 2018. I provide customer service to the college population by taking
food orders, prepping and cooking food, and then processing payment. I have been trained to open and
close the store. The Dog Pound also manages the college retail store, which offers clothing and college
logo printed items.

I was a teacher apprentice for three months, which is a mandatory part of my degree program. I
observed and interacted with teachers and students in the classroom. I was assigned to Ted Brown, a
mathematics teacher. At my request, Mr. Brown provided me the opportunity to observe a special
education teacher. We reflected on the classes each day, giving me the opportunity to ask questions and
expand my knowledge of being a teacher. When the teacher was absent, I was given the opportunity to
provide a workshop for the classes I worked with most, under the supervision of the substitute.
