Final Assessment (40%)

INSTRUCTIONS TO STUDENTS

The student is required to come up with a performance management assessment form,


based on a specific job.
Part A:
1. The student needs to:
a) Identify a job that you are interested to do. The entry requirement is for a degree
holder position.
i. Conduct Job Analysis for the chosen job.
ii. Determine task performance and contextual performance of the job
b) Job description and job specification for the job. Identify the approaches in
measuring the performance of the job. Is it a Behaviour, Results and Traits
approach? Justify your argument.
c) Determine the performance standards of the job.
d) Discuss the suitability of using a comparative system or absolute system in
measuring performance for the job. Which comparative or absolute system that
you will use? Justify your argument.

Part B:
2. The student needs to:
a) Come up with a performance appraisal forms for the job.
b) Determine who should evaluate the performance of the employee doing the job.
Justify your argument.
c) How many time would you conduct the performance evaluation exercise? Justify
your argument.
3. You can refer to books, journals, website, articles, notes or anything suitable to use in
their work. 
4. Students are required to prepare a write up of topic, not more than 10 pages. Please
include Name, Student ID, title page including the job title that they choose, table of
content and references.
5. The students' assessment should be prepared individually. You should not copy another
person’s work. Students should not plagiarise another person’s work as your own. 
6. Plagiarism is prohibited. 0 marks will be given for plagiarism. Plagiarism software
will be used to check on the student work.
7. The assignments should be typed using Times New Roman font (size 12) or Arial (size
11), and double spacing.
8. The assignment must be submitted both, hard copy and softcopy. (Soft copy- please
submit it through My Guru.
9. Submission Date: 11th August, 2020 (before 12 pm).
