The graph illustrates the percentage of Twitter user divided into distinctive age
group from November 2010 to May 2013 in USA.
Overall, it is clear that the portion fluctuated throughout the period, however, the
upward trend in the number of users is the tendency in all ages. While the age
group of 18-29 is the dominant Twitter users, with the dramatic increase which
soared more than double from 14% to 30% and reached the peak at 32% in August
2012. On the other hand, the proportion of users who are over 65 years old had a
slight surge from 4% to 5% at the end.
The 30-39 age group, by comparison, show a sharp fluctuation between November
2010 and August 2011 and then rose steadily from 13% to 17% at the rest of the
time. The pattern which was levelled off at first and then erratic slightly through
January 2011 and May 2013, respectively, was seen with the 50-64 age group.
