General Purpose Bomb (GPB)
 Hide contents

Mk84 // Mk82 // Mk82 Snakeeye

The Mk80-series of bombs are all unguided free-fall bombs, also known as “iron bombs.”

The Snakeeye variant employs deployable high-drag tail fins for safer low-altitude drop.

Aprx filling weight: 945 // 192 // 192

Joint Direct Attack Munition (JDAM)
 Hide contents

GBU-31 // GBU-32 // GBU-38 // GBU-54

The JDAM is not a bomb in itself, but rather a guidance kit attached to a GPB. Kits 31, 32 and 38 enable
precision guidance by GPS grid coordinates, while kit 54 adds a laser seeker head on top of the GPS guidance.

Guidance: GPS // GPS // GPS // GPS & Laser

Paveway
 Hide contents

GBU-10 // GBU-12 // EGBU-12 // GBU-24A // GBU-24A w/BLU-118

The Paveway is not a bomb in itself, but rather a guidance kit attached to a GPB. Kits 10, 12 and 24 enable
precision guidance by pulse-coded laser designation, while kit E-12 adds GPS guidance on top of the laser
guidance.

The BLU-118 is thermobaric and thus produces a vastly larger and longer-lasting blast wave, resulting in
massive damage to structures and organics.

Guidance: Laser // Laser // Laser & GPS // Laser // Laser

GBU-39 // GBU-53

The SDB series of bombs always come mounted on a 4-slot rail. Both variants employ deployable wings to
provide high glide ratios, and are capable of extreme course corrections while in flight.

Both platforms are highly accurate and provide the opportunity for surgical strikes with low risk of collateral
damage.

The 53 is further able to lock onto hot vehicles via its IIR seeker.

Cluster Bomb Unit (CBU)
 Hide contents

CBU-87 // CBU-89 // CBU-97 // CBU-103 WCMD // CBU-105 SFW WCMD

The 87 and 103 variants of CBU both carry 202 3.4lb bomblets that are spread out over a rectangular area on
deployment.
These bomblets are capable of destroying light-armored vehicles and infantry.

The 97 and 105 variants of CBU both carry 40 seeker skeets that are spread out over a rectangular area on
deployment.
These skeets are capable of tracking and engaging vehicles with kinetic penetrators through their top armor in a
highly effective fashion.

The 89 variant of CBU carries an assortment of anti-tank and anti-infantry mines that are spread out over a
rectangular area on deployment.
These mines are lethal, but currently undetectable once deployed. As such using the CBU-89 is a bad idea.

The Wind Corrected Munitions Dispenser (WCMD) designation indicates a JDAM-like tailkit that enables GPS
guidance for increased accuracy.

Joint Stand-Off Weapon (JSOW)

 Hide contents

AGM-154A // AGM-154A1

Despite the AGM designation, both variants are actually glide bombs with deployable wings that increase their
glide ratio.

The 154A acts like the CBU-105, spreading 145 3.4lb bomblets and employing GPS guidance.

The 154A1 carries a standard 192lb bomb load akin to a GBU-38 and likewise employs GPS guidance.

Air Intercept Missile (AIM)
 Hide contents

AIM-7 // AIM-9M // AIM-9X // AIM-54 // AIM-120

The 7 was the premier mid-range Air-to-Air guided missile prior to the development of the AIM-120.

The 9M is an excellent short-range Air-to-Air missile, now surpassed by the 9X, which improves the missiles
tracking ability and allows for high levels of off-angle lock and tracking capability.
The slimmer fins of the 9X reduce drag with no reduction in course correction capability, thus allowing for
higher airspeed.

The 54 is a long range Air-to-Air missile used exclusively on the F-14.

Guidance: Active Radar // IIR // IIR // Active Radar // Active Radar

AGM-65D // AGM-65G // AGM-65H // AGM-65K // AGM-65L

The AGM-65 is a highly effective anti-tank missile.
Lower unit weight allows the D and H variants to be launched from the LAU-88 triple launcher rack.

High-speed Anti-Radiation Missile (HARM)
 Hide contents

AGM-88

The 88 is designed for long-range engagement of enemy air defense emplacements, homing in on active radar
emissions.
Of limited use in Gauntlet as, so far, only Vanilla AA emplacements are targetable.

Guidance: Passive Radar
Aprx unit weight: 783
Warhead: 146lbs Shaped
Range: 100 to 15000 meters

Hydra 70
 Hide contents

Standard // APERS // M259 WP // APKWS // Smoke

The Hydra 70 is an unguided rocket, in this case fired from a 7-round LAU-131 launcher.

The APERS variant releases 2500 flechettes by airburst into the strike area, and is designed for anti-personnel
use. Limited effectiveness in testing.

Standard carries a contact-fuzed HEDP charge. The APKWS is an advanced laser-guided variant of the Standard.

The M259 WP variant releases a cloud of white phosphorous that is potentially lethal to infantry, and also acts
as marking smoke.

Initial size of plumes on WP and coloured smoke rockets are decent, but they fall off in a few seconds, which
renders them ineffective for marking and concealment.

Zuni Folding-Fin Aircraft Rocket

 Hide contents

The Zuni is an unguided rocket, in this case fired from a 4-round LAU-10 launcher.
It seems to act as an enlarged Hydra 70 Standard rocket, though I’ve been unable to otherwise classify it
reliably.

SUU25
 Hide contents

The SUU25 is an 8-round flare dispenser.

BLU-107/B Durandal
 Hide contents

The Durandal is an anti-runway unguided bomb containing a tandem charge. It creates rubble piles, thus
preventing runways from being used when hit.
