Greek Yogurt

Yogurt is one of the oldest and most-popular fermented drinks. The word yougurt comes from
Turkey and refers to tart, thick milk. Greek yogurt Greek is different from other types of yogurt.
Greeks themselves do make the consumption of yogurt as part of their daily diet every day.
Yogurt is part of the staple diet of Mediterranean people including Greece.

"They really make Greek yogurt their daily food. They usually use it as a food mix Yogurt
doesn’t have one single origin. However, you can find yogurt goes in nearly every culture
that kept animals for milk.

Yogurt has several varieties. One of them is Greek Yogurt. To makes Greek yogurt, regular
yogurt is strained extensively to remove liquid whey and lactose, leaving behind a thicker,
textured yogurt. The processes for make regular and greek yogurt starts off the same: milk is
first heated, then cooled to the desired fermentation temperature (106-1140F) before bacterial
cultures are added. The mixture is then left to ferment until the bacteria grows, produces lactic
acid, and gels the milk proteins to produce regular yogurt In addition to the previous good
enzymes, fermented milk or yogurt is also rich in potassium, phosphorus and magnesium, all of
which are essential for bodily functions..

Greek yogurt has almost double the protein of regular yogurt. Unless you're using the non
fat varieties, Greek yogurt has about three times the saturated fat than regular yogurt. It also
contains about half the sodium of regular yogurt and roughly half the carbohydrates of regular,
but remember that adding sweeteners to either one will increase the carbohydrate count' The one
to choose really depends on texture and dietary preferences. Because of its thicker texture and
tangier flavor, Greek yogurt is often used as a healthier substitute for sour cream, créme fraiche,
or mayonnaise.
