J - Motors and Alpha Motors Notes

Alpha Motor

J - Motor

Friction Feeder Motor Types

Multifeeder ip3 Friction Feeders use two types of motors, J motors and Alpha motors. Different timing
pulleys, and a different timing belt are used for the motors per gearing option. Only the pulley on the
motor shaft, next pulley driven, and the timing belt for these two pulleys is affected by the change in
motor.

To identify between the two types of motors, we look at the end opposite of the motor shaft. J motors
have a silver color cap over the motor encoder, and the Alpha motor caps are all black in color over
the motor encoder.
