Set the Relay X application setting to APP = Mot and connect it to monitor the secondary current of the phase CTS. Set the application of Relay Y to the setting APP = Far and connect the relay to monitor the current in each of the CTs that are slipped over the phase leads of the motor. Relay X provides complete thermal overload, locked rotor, unbalance, and fault protection with Joad jam, load loss, and a starts-per-hour limit. The X relay is set using motor nameplate data Enable the phase definite time overcurrent elements in Relay Y and set the pickup at 0.5 amp. With this setting, a 50:5 CT gives a differential trip sensitivity of $ amps primary. Set the defi- nite time delay for 1 or 2 eycles.
