You are hiring us as your attorneys to represent you as it pertains to ‘an investigation regarding the circumstances surrounding Councilwoman Terri Flynn and her husband Michael Flynn's tax assessment for their property located at 34 & 38 Warren Avenue in Middletown (the “property"), and to investigate whether any applicable statutes, ordinances or regulaltions were violated. | have not been retained to represent you generally or in. connection with any other matters except as herein noted. Unless we make a different agreement in writing, this Agreement will govern all future: services we may perform for you, 2. Glient Duties. You agree to be truthful with us, to cooperate, to keep us informed of developments, to abide by this Agreement and to keep us advised of your address, telephone ‘number, email and whereabouts, 3. Compensation. You agree to pay Maria F. Deaton, Esq. a fee of One Hundred Seventy ($170.00) Dollars per hour to cover the investigation of this matter; | may change this rate over time, but at present, | do not anticipate any change for the rest of the year. My ‘monthly bilings will reflect the rates in effect at the time the services are performed, and any monthly billing which remains unpaid for a period of over thirty (30) days will constitute my Fight to terminate my service on your behalf. Any unpaid balance remaining unpaid for a period of thirty (30) days will aso be subject to monthly interest fee on the unpaid balance. 4. Retainer Deposit. There will be no retainer deposit.5. Discharge and Withdrawal, Maria F. Deaton, Esq., has made no promises to you with regard to the outcome of this case, save that she will exercise her best professional judgment on your behalf. You will, at all times, have the right to terminate my services upon written notice to that effect. | have the right to terminate my services upon written notice to that effect in the event that you fail to cooperate with me in any reesonable request, or if | determine in my reasonable discretion that to continue my service would be unethical or impractical. 6. Conflict of Interests. Fa conflict arises such that we can no longer represent all of the individuals, we will make our best judgment regarding which individuals we will no. longer represent, and those individuals agree not to seek to have us disqualified from representing the remaining individuals based on our prior representation of them. We will be as responsive as possible to your interests and look forward to maintaining a relationship of mutual trust and confidence.
