TY Week 6

Dear Diary,
Monday morning, we had Japanese where we started to watch a Japanese comedy
movie. The fil was called “water boys”, and I really liked It. I would defiantly
recommend it to anyone that loves comedy movies.
Next, we had green school where my friends and I were tiding and organizing the
mini garden in between the classrooms. It was fun and relaxing because I was
doing it with my friends and we played some Christmas songs to lighten the mood.
After break we had English where my group and I were finishing writing up the
script for the podcast and it went really well. Then on Wednesday’s English class
we recorded our podcast and it went really smoothly. Because it was our second
last English class, he brought in some biscuits and we played kahoot quizzes which
were really fun. I even won one of the rounds.
Mathematics came after English where we were putting the final touches of our
statistics project. All we have to do is stick everything on and then we are done.
Then on Thursday’s mathematics class we presented our poster and it went really
well, which is good.
After Lunch we had double tourism and we had to create brochures about the
people that we talked about in our speeches. I was very proud of mine because it
looked vibrant and interesting.
Tuesday morning, I had double drama where the teacher was in and we had to
come up with a short story and then act it out. My friends and I came up with a
funny one, we acted out an arranged wedding and the bride didn’t want to marry
the man so she goes up to him and slaps him in the face. I was the groom and it
was funny getting fake slapped a few times. In the end the teacher really liked it.
After break we had wellness where we started to learn about the will. It was very
interesting learning about how much power you have over your own will and what
you can do with it. The subject was confusing at times but overall, it was
understandable.
Next, we had Computer Studies where I just continued doing my word document
diagnostic test. In Thursday class, I was half way there. I think I am doing good so
far and its easy to complete. The only bad thing is that I can’t do it at home
because it the app Is too old for it to work on my home computer, so the only time
I have t do it is in school during the computer studies class.
After lunch I had double sign language where we continued learning different
ways to describe ourselves. So far, I can sign: my name, surname, where I live, my
school, my family and my hobbies. I am really proud that I can do all that, because
at first, I thought it was going to be so hard but actually I was wrong, which is
great news.

Wednesday morning, we had our last official RSE class where we recapped what
we did over module 2. The sad thing is that our teacher (Mrs. Kenny) is leaving the
school and she was such a good teacher that I will miss her. I overall really enjoyed
her classes and I thought they were interesting.
Siamsa came after RSE where we competed a Microsoft forms test that we did on
the Irish units. I think I did well because it wasn’t hard but we will see.
Mindfulness in the convent was our last class of the day, where we started to talk
about how our module 2 experience was so far and I thought it was really nice and
relaxing. It was also good to see what others thought of the subject and if they
corresponded to my thoughts or not.

Thursday, we didn’t have school because we went on a TY trip to the zoo along
with the Benildus boys. It was really fun because we got to go by ourselves and not
with the boys, although they did tell us to make an effort to interreact with them,
but we didn’t really want to, they didn’t either. I will say more about the trip on the
trips and experiences page.

Friday morning, we had German where my group and I presented our trip to
Vienna project. The presenting went really well and the teacher enjoyed it. Though
we were supposed to do only 3 nights but we did 14, which she said was ok.
Next, we had first aid where we started to learn about baby CPR. I think it was the
hardest of all because it’s a baby and they are so fragile but its was good to learn
how to do it in those situations. Hopefully I wouldn’t have to perform baby CPR in
my life or any CPR.
After break we had Zumba where it was our last class and it was so much fun. We
danced to Christmas songs and for some of them we came up with our own dance
moves which was really cool.
Next, we had music where we learned about the meaning behind Pink Floyds
album “behind the wall”. I think it was interesting ho he expressed so many
emotions through every song that he wrote and I also liked that the songs were
based on true stories from his childhood.
After lunch we had choir where we just did some work in a different classroom
because there were exams going on in the hall. I just did the usual reading and
started to plan my next short story.

Only 3 days left of school before the Christmas break!! Can’t wait!
