Frightful Nightmare

The world today is full of horrible news. We heard multifarious happenings that
affects the lives of individuals and lead health crisis to all nations. Many lives were sacrificed
as well as their time to the families. This is because of COVID-19, the pandemic that alarmed
us all and changed everything.

When COVID-19 spread in the Philippines, President Rodrigo Duterte immediately

made an action for the safety of every Filipino’s especially for the safety of the youngsters.
But sad to say our unseen enemy attacks the human’s day by day where the number of
infected patients is increasing. Because of the unexpected number of cases, face-to-face
classes was suspended and this changes really affects us all especially to us, the students.
Where it was also a challenge to all of the mentors in facing this new normal.

As a student, it’s really hard for me to adjust in this new normal. The fears, distress
and struggles that I have felt right now cannot be forgotten as I go along in my studies.
Studying in the midst of this pandemic is like being in the battle where you need to fight and
win in order to survive. A challenge to us all students in dealing the situation of this new
normal and to our emotions is one of my nightmares that I don’t expect to come.

This nightmare is the scariest circumstances that I have encountered now and was also
encountered by others. Where no one knows when will it ends and be back in normal
situations. But this nightmare also gives me a lesson to cherish every moment of our lives and
to become more responsible in working our task as a student. Aside from that, this nightmare
also thought me that every minutes and seconds should not be wasted in doing futile things.
Rather, we should be wise in working the things that needed to be work.

COVID-19 is not just a frightful nightmare for me but also an unforgettable pandemic
that change the life of human beings, including me. A pandemic that challenge the
government’s sovereignty among all nations. And a pandemic that surprised us all and lead
us into a sudden trepidation.

Before I end my speech, I would like to remind everybody that we need to be strong
and strengthen our faith in the Lord as we face our unseen deadly enemy, the COVID-19
