Preparation of Simple Syrup:
Theoretical back ground:
Syrup is sweet aqueous preparation intended for oral use. The concentrated solution
of a sugar mixed in water or other aqueous liquids are called syrup.
Official formula:
Sucrose = 850 gm
Purified water quantity sufficient to make =1000ml

Procedure:

We took 42.5 gm of sucrose and dissolved in given amount of solution water 7.5ml by
heating as the saturated solution in normal condition is super-saturated. Now we added
purified water quantity sufficient to make the final volume.

Observation:

The syrup produced as a result of B.P method are less viscous as compared to the
syrup produced by U.S.P method because the sucrose water taken in highly amount in U.S.P
syrup than B.P syrup.

Uses:
It is used as;
 Vehicle.
 Sweetening agent.
 Self preservation.
