Definition:

Leaching is the process whereby pesticides, fertilisers, plant nutrients etc. are accidentally
'washed' from the crops by rain or irrigation systems and drain off into other places .
Evapotranspiration
Loss of water by evaporation from the soil and transpiration from plants.
