4) Major discussions and agenda of 1) Teachers will maintain student profiles with IDs and

notebooks like Star, smile, good, bad, poor, excellent,
need improvement etc.
4) All staffs are responsible for the cleanliness of the class
as well as students.

PROGRAMMES CONDUCTED IN THE MONTH OF JULY- 2019


Name of the Event: - Van Mahotsav

Who were the participants? : - Students from non-formal and remedial classes with head teacher
and teachers.
Date: 1 July 2019
Time: - 10:30 am to 11:30 am

Significance of the Event: - Van mahotav is a festival, which was started by Kulapati Kanaiyalal Munshi
Ji, the Union Minister for Agriculture to create enthusiasm among masses for forest conservation and
planting trees. It is a weeklong festival. Van means forest and Mahotsav means festival. It is an annual
tree planting movement in India, which began in the year1950. It, has gained significant, national
importance and every year, millions and millions of sapling are planted all across India in observation
to the Van Mahotsav.

ACTIVITES: - We started the celebration with an introductory speech by our teachers briefing the
significance of the Van Mahotsav, and asked students to draw something related to forest, tree
conservation or some related topic.

Purpose of Visit: Smile team arrived at the Maxvision Education Centre at 8:30am and MEAI team
arrived at 9:15 am. It was an official visit form Mitsubishi Electric.

Significance of the Event: The Volunteer visited our Centre and had a formal meeting with our
principal on how to improve the education structure for the students under the Amani Project with
the help of Music.
Activities Conduct: He met our students and taught them few basics of music and also told them an
interesting instrument known as mood meter.

teachers.

Activities Conduct: She taught the basic notes of music and told them about mood meter using a
chart.

Time: - 10:30 am to 11:30 am

Significance of the Event: - On guru Purnima, thousands of devotees express their gratitude towards
their Guru for enlightenment .There is a long history associated with this festival. Every year Guru
Purnima also Known as Vyasa Purnima, is celebrated on the full moon day in the month of Ashadha of
the Shakha Samavat by the Hindu calendar followed by Buddhists, Jains and Hindus. On this day
thousands of devotees, express their gratitude towards their gurus for enlightenment. There is a long
history associated with this festival. It is a day dedicated to Gurus. In Nepal, it is celebrated as
Teacher’s Day.

ACTIVITES: - Today we are celebrated the Guru Purnima. A small speech on the significance of the day
by the teacher and few students act a play regarding to guru shishya parampara.

Feedback:
With such multiple supports starting from Education, sports, many activities and celebrations along
with exposure visits, healthcare and nutrition support with such a consistency is a really a boon for
our needy kids. , I feel proud to be a part of ME Centre, Bhawani Enclave Gurgaon and special thanks
to Smile Foundation for their support and cooperation. The respect and pride we gain from the local
communities is highly appreciable. And I wish to have this team working for a longer period in our
community.

Feedback:
We are very happy to see such great work done by Maxvision and Smile Foundation. Our kids are
getting every facility like private Schools and that too free of cost being it Educational Material,
Uniform, Activities, picnic, healthcare and especially nutrition. This kind of Education Centre is really
needed in our community where parents are not able to provide education and basic facilities to
children. Thank you ME Centre and Smile Foundation.
Case Story –I
Name : Sheriya Kumari (Shreya Kumari is in the beneficiary List shared with Smile)
Age : 7Years
Enrollment Year in ME & Class: May 2016, Class Nar.
Present Class: IInd Class
Mother’s Occupation: She works in a company
Father’s Occupation: Private Job

Family Composition: Sheriya Kumari has 6 members in her family.


Socio-Economic Profile: Sheriya Kumari belongs to a low income family and have 2 sisters and one
brother. Due to very low income, her family is barely surviving in district of Gurgaon and therefore are
residing in a rental house at Bhawani Enclave nearby Basai chowk. It is very difficult for them to pay
rent and survive with big family in a very low budget.
Difficulties and Struggles faced by the family: - Due to very low income, her parents are not able to
afford education for her. Hence they were not willing to get her educated. Their budget was not
allowing them to spend money for her education. As her father is daily wager, sometimes there is no
income and they have to go through very tough days. They are devoid of proper health care until it’s
an emergency.
Difference in the life of the Beneficiary: - She was one of the dropped out girl child due to her family
financial condition and was not expected to join any education Centre. Her parents were hopeless
hence were not willing her to get admission in any School but due to Mission Education Centre
supported by Smile Foundation their dream comes true. Now we can understand that they were
interested for her education but were not able to do so. Now she is very regular and sincere student
of Class 1st. Now her life is changed and her parents are supporting her to go to the ME Centre on
regular basis. They got such support without having financial burden. They are very happy and
thankful for ME Centre, Bhawani Enclave, Gurugram.

Future Aim of the Beneficiary: - She wants to become Teacher.


Case Story –II
Name: - Rinku
Age -: 12 years
Enrollment Year in ME & Class: - July 2017 class fourth class
Present Class: - 6th class
Mother’s Occupation: - Company worker
Father’s Occupation: - Company worker
Family Composition: Rinku have four family members in his family.

Socio-Economic Profile: He belongs to a low-income family. His Father work in private company. He
have one elder brother and one younger Sister. Due to very low income, his family is residing in
Bhawani Encalve in a rental house. It is very difficult to pay rent and survive with family in a very low
budget.

Difficulties and Struggles faced by the family: Having very low income it is very difficult to afford
educational expenses for the child education hence his parents were not getting him admitted to any
school. Also they are facing financial crisis due to which he is not able to procure proper food and this
goes with the whole family.

Difference in the life of the Beneficiary: Initially he was not able to identify alphabets and numerical
even he was not able to hold pencil to write. Now after enrollment in ME Centre, Bhawani Enclave,
Gurgaon, he is able to identify letters and write as well. He is very good learner and regular student.
He is getting all the benefits like educational material and nutritional support provided by Smile
Foundation and his family is now interested to send him in ME Centre on regular basis. His parents are
very happy for his educational support and improvement and very thankful to ME Centre.
