Before you begin ...

What does “Miss Elfi” | Rubi Special mean ...
You can work the pattern for “Miss Elfi” in connection with the crochet pattern
for the doll “Miss Rubi”. If you want to purchase the „Miss Rubi“ pattern you will
get it in my etsy shop or on Amigurumipatterns.net. On the last page you will find
the web addresses of my shops!

What you need ...

2,5 mm and 3,5 mm crochet hook
6 different yarns for hook size 2,5 mm
tapestry needle with blunt tip
scissors
tape measure
stitch markers
stuffing
two safety eyes, 12mm (It‘s also possible to embroider the eyes.)

hook size: 2,5-3,5, weight: 1,75 lbs/50g, length: 125 m/137 yds, material: 100% cotton

STONE WASHED | SCHEEPJESWOL

hook size: 3-3,5, weight: 1,75 lbs/50g, length: 130 m/142 yds, material: 78% cotton, 22% acrylic

Hair: Catania | Schachenmayr | weight: 1,75 lbs/50g or 1 ball | color number: 157, marone
Hat, shoes: Catania | Schachenmayr | weight: 1,75 lbs/50g or 1 ball | color number: 244, agave
Skin: Catania | Schachenmayr | weight: 1,75 lbs/50g or 1 ball | color number: 263, soft apricot

With the yarn and hook size mentioned, Elfi will be approximately 11-12 inch (30 cm) tall.

TIP! Color change (col ch)

When changing color, draw the new color through the two loops on your hook at the last stitch before the
“col ch” (fig. 01). Work the first stitch of the new round in the back loop of the stitch only (fig. 02).
If you work the first stitch of the following round in the back loop, too (fig. 03), you will have a
harmonic color change (fig. 04).

The hood ... (Miss Rubi page 4) The hat ...

We begin with the hood! 01. round sc 6 in the ring (6 st)

We work round 01 until round 22 in hair color and crochet 04. round [sc 2, inc]2x (8 st)
single crochets also in round 22. In the end we make a slip 05. round sc (8 st)
stitch, break the yarn and fasten off. 06. round sc 2, dc 4, sc 2 (8 st)

We crochet curls until our yarn is depleted! In the end we will 26. round sc (24 st)

The curls ... Break the yarn and fasten off.

The curls on the hood ...

We place the hat on the hood (fig. 01) and sew it on. Now we spread the curls evenly to the hood
and arround the hat (fig. 02) and fix them on the hood how it is described in Rubis pattern.

Make a magic ring

01. round sc 6 in the ring (6 st)
02.-11. rnds. (10) sc (6 st)
12. round [sc 2, inc]2x (8 st)
13. round [sc 3, inc]2x (10 st)
14. round [sc 4, inc]2x (12 st)
15.-26. rnds. (12) sc (12 st)
27.-32. rnds. (6) see Rubis leg round 05 until round 10 (page 7)
33. round [sc in front loop only, ch 2]17x, sl st 1 (54 st)

Break yarn and fasten of! Now repeat it one more time!

The legs ... (make two, col ch Miss Rubi page 7)

Round 01 until round 10 in white, then col ch red.
11. + 12. round in red, after round 12 col ch white
13. + 14. round in white, after round 14 col ch red
15. + 16. round in red, after round 16 col ch white
17. + 18. round in white, after round 18 col ch red

Now we put on Elfis shoes. We pull them up as far as possible and stuff the legs in the lower third.
We sew on the shoes on the legs with a few stitches, turn the shoe tips upwards and fix them
with a few stitches, too.

Put the legs together ... (Miss Rubi page 8)

01. + 02. round in red, after round 02 col ch white
03. + 04. round in white, after round 04 col ch red
05. + 06. round in red, after round 06 Attention!!! Col ch green (dress color)

Now we work the pattern of Miss Rubi (Miss Rubi, page 8) from round 07 up to the face.

We work the first round of frills in color „Catania, number 244“, the second round in dress color (Scheepjes, number 806).

The face ... (see Rubi with the following changes)

Mouth in color of your choice between round 8-10 (from col ch dress/head) in 6 stitches
Nose in skin color between round 12/13 in 3 stitches [8 to 10 times around], making sure 8-10 threads are visible
Eyes between round 15/16 applied with a distance 7 stitches.

Now we close the head (see Rubi pattern page 11), place the hood and sew it on with a few stitches.

The hands and the arms ...

Work the hands in skin color as it is described in Rubis pattern and change
to dress color when we come to the arms in round 07.

When crocheting the arms we do a color change all two rounds, beginning
with Scheepjes, number 806 alternating with Catania, number 244.
The round of frills we work again in dress color (806).
Now we sew the arms on! Look at the Rubi pattern.

Finally, you can give Elfi rosy cheeks with rouge, eye shadow or textile marker
and a little bit the earpieces.

The ears ...

Make a magic ring
01. round sc 6 in the ring (6 st)
02. round sc (6 st)
03. round [sc 1, inc]3x (9 st)
04. round sc (9 st)

07. round sc 2, hdc 2, dc 4, hdc 2, sc 2 (12 st)

Now break the yarn and draw the working yarn until the yarn is secured, but keep the yarn
long enough so that the ears can be sewn onto the head. You „fold“ the ears after the first two double crochets.
So they look like sweet goblin ears (fig. right).

The scarf ...

Now you can let your imagination run! So I work my scarf ...

Foundation: ch 102 incl. t ch
row 01 skipt the first two ch, dc, ch 2 (100 st)
row 02 front post dc (100 st)
Break yarn and fasten off.

Finally make some fringes and your Elfi is done!
