FUTURE STUDENTS ask.

UWindsor

Master of Engineering
The University of Windsor offers two master-level engineering programs — the Master of
Engineering (MEng) and the Master of Applied Science (MASc).

The MEng is a course-based program designed for working professionals or recent graduates who
want to increase their knowledge in multiple, advanced topics. The MASc program is a research-
based program that allows students to progress to the PhD level upon successful completion.

Graduates of the MEng program can apply to UWindsor's fast-track MASc program, which provides
them with additional research-specific training and education. Program transfers are possible
between the MASc and MEng programs. Full-time students must complete this program in 3-5
semesters. Part-time students must complete within 15 semesters.

Focus your MEng degree in one of the following areas:

 Civil Engineering
 Electrical and Computer Engineering
 Environmental Engineering
 Industrial Engineering
 Materials Engineering
 Mechanical Engineering
 Mechanical Engineering (Automotive Option)

Co-op
Master of Engineering (MEng) Co-op Program
Co-operative Education gives you an opportunity to gain work experience and network with
professionals in your chosen field by integrating valuable job experience with classroom learning.
Placements can be used as a vehicle to explore employment in companies of varying sizes, in a
variety of fields and in differing locations. Most importantly, you will make contacts and build your
network which will help you find employment upon graduation. There is no better way than this to
begin formulating your future career plans.

Program Requirements
Candidates meeting the following minimum admission requirements will be considered. However,
the number of available spots is limited, so only the most qualified candidates will be admitted.

 Must apply for admission into the co-op option in study term one (1);
 Must be registered in three courses in study term one, in three courses in study term two, and in
two courses in study term three;
 Must maintain a minimum 73% cumulative average and not more than 1 outstanding 70% or lower
grade on transcript;
 Must have strong written and verbal communication skills;
 Must be enrolled in full-time studies in the engineering program;
 Must not be on a leave of absence when taking Co-op 101 or during the job competition;
 Cannot take any courses during the work term;
 Must not end their program on a work term (i.e., must be returning to school following the
completion of the work term);
 Students who do not complete the coursework requirement within 3 study terms will not receive the
co-op designation.

Co-op Fees
Students admitted into the program will be assessed four (4) Co-op fees of $661 for international
students and $446 for domestic students for each term beginning in the term admitted. Co-op fees
are subject to change. Co-op fees are non-refundable.

Placement is not guaranteed

The process of securing a placement must be a partnership between students and Co-op, Career
and Employment Services. Although, every effort is made to find a sufficient number of work term
positions for all students enrolled in co-op, no guarantee of employment can be made. Securing a
placement will depend entirely upon the student’s success during the application and the interview
processes.
