COMPARISION OF PRESENT PERFECT AND PAST SIMPLE TENSE

+ Thì hiện tại hoàn thành thường được dùng để diễn tả một hành động bắt đầu ở quá khứ và
vẫn còn tiếp tục cho đến hiện tại. Thì quá khứ đơn được dùng để diễn tả một hành động đã
hoàn toàn kết thúc trong quá khứ
Ví dụ: She has lived in London for 10 years
She lived in London for 10 years
+ Thì hiện tại hoàn thành được dùng để diễn tả hành động đã xảy ra trong quá khứ nhưng
thời gian không xác định. Thì quá khứ đơn được dùng để diễn ta hành động đã xảy ra trong
quá khứ nhưng thời gian xác định
Ví dụ: I have already seen that film.
I saw that film last year
+ Thì hiện tại hoàn thành thường được dùng để truyền đạt một thông tin mới. Nhưng nếu tiếp
tục nói về điều đó, thông thường chúng ta sử dụng thì quá khứ đơn
Ví dụ: A: Ow! I have burnt myself
B: How did you do that?
A: I picked up a hot dish

Ex: I have known her since I came to this town
He hasn’t got in touch with me since he left school
