of water vapor in the atmosphere and is making water availability less predictable so this
lead to more intense rainstorm in some areas and drought condition in another areas.

No, it’s not sarcastic, unplanned deforestation is when someone, other than the land
owner, is undertaking activities that lead to deforestation.

1) What new ideas did you get from this passage compared to the passage in unit 3?
The passage in unit 3 focus on water pollution and this passage focus on overall problems
that affect our environment like air, water and sound pollution. And the related problems
like malaria, global warming and acid rain.
2) Write a short paragraph about the causes of environmental pollution and how we can protect
our environment.
Environmental pollution is pollution defined as combination of physical and biological
components of the earth to such extent that normal environmental process is adversely
affected. it’s caused by different factors like burning of fossil fuels, deforestation and acid
rain. Almost all pollution problem happen as a result of human activity so protection and
prevention start by giving awareness to humans followed by planting trees, using
renewable energy, Reducing, reusing, and recycling wastes etc. we can protect our
environment from various problems.

problems?

Air pollution:-afforestation, replacing fossil fuels by alternative energies like solar and
wind energy
Acid rain:-using renewable energy sources
Global warming:- using renewable energy sources, using mass transportation
4) What do you think of the afforestation program we had nationally in the recent past? How do
you think it can change the environment? What was your role in the campaign and what will you
do in the future?
It’s good, it can change the environment by cycling damaging carbon out of the atmosphere
and transform it to biomass through photosynthesis and it address other environmental
issues like soil erosion.
We didn’t participate before but we want to take part in the future by planting and
protecting programs.
