 Your proposed managing innovation and technology transfer theme


 How you will address each learning outcome

Managing & Measuring Innovation Performance has generated personal interest and motivation in
reading and documenting myself about the innovation process. When we say to manage and to measure the
innovation process, we think at the same purpose, communication, combinations of ideas and their
application, to respond to external or internal opportunities and use its creativity to introduce new ideas,
processes, or products.
Identifying customer needs, macro tendencies improving capabilities, and finding financial support is part of
the innovation process as well, according to Kanter (1997) innovation involves “original invention and
creative use and defines innovation as a generation, admission, and realization of new ideas, products,
services, and processes.
Usually, when you go to an organization you do not know from where to start, but if you have a plan and
ideas then you have a process and that means you will have a good structure of achievements. In the past,
people have used different ways to keep a successful product on the market, perhaps even using manual
production or physical labor. Businesses and people to run them have always existed, but an improvement in
the ease of work nowadays has taken by technology.
Using technology, you are always up to date, always informed and you have much greater certainty that
what you must accomplish will be completed in due time. For example, the production of machine parts,
before were used various measurements that had to be done by hand, sanded, painted and treated properly to
be a product that is in demand on the market, now all these are replaced by machines where you only select
all the steps and you will have a finished product.
However, we must keep in mind that at the base of all these processes and improvements, there is a human
with his ideas, with his practices, with motivation to bring something new on the market.

In my opinion, innovation is not something new, it has always existed depending on one culture to another
and of course, over the years it has changed, so everything has been modernized. While arguments about
why, how and the extent to which the principles of innovation should be understood, according to Hughes
D.J. (2018) innovation involves “some combination of problem/opportunities identification, the
introduction, adoption, or modification of new ideas germane to organizational needs, the promotion of
these ideas, and the practical implementation of these ideas “.
