Apparatus Required:
● MATLAB Simulink version 2018a
Theory:
● In Dynamic Braking, a braking resistor Rb is connected
across the armature as soon as the DC motor is
disconnected from the supply mains. The motor now
works as a generator, producing the braking torque.

Conclusion:
● As the Rb (Braking Resistance) increases, the time taken to brake
the motor and bring it in halt is more.
● The chopper used for speed control is Type-C which allows first and
second quadrant operation i.e allows current to flow in both positive
and negative directions facilitating dynamic braking.
