Experiment 7

Aim: To study an inverting amplifier using CFOA(Current

Feedback Operational Amplifier) and to
a) plot its magnitude and phase response
b) do a transient analysis using sine wave
c) to observe ω3dB for different values of gains
Theory:
CFOA is a type of electronic amplifier whose inverting input is
sensitive to current rather than to voltage as in a
conventional op-amp.
A CFOA consists of a current conveyor followed by a voltage
follower. Ideally,
Iy=0, Zin=infinite
Vx=Vy
Iz=Ix
Vz=Vw
The circuit diagram shown below depicts a CFOA used in an
inverting configuration:

Output Waveform

a)Magnitude and phase response

b) transient analysis using a sine wave

c)to observe ω3dB for different values of gains

Result:
Hence we see that the 3dB frequency can be increased or
decreased depending on the value of Rf.
